MORE ABOUT CASTING IMPREGNATION
Eliminating porosity through casting impregnation
Casting impregnation involves the introduction of a sealing resin into the porosity to provide sealing, reduce moisture, and enhance the integrity of the part.
To ensure consistent high quality and prevent sealing resin bleedout and contamination (which are associated with heat-cure resins), we use Loctite Resinol RTC, an anaerobically curing resin that is superior to the epoxy products used by other impregnators. Saran Industries, LP can provide all three types of vacuum impregnation processes:
- Dry Vacuum Pressure Impregnation, which has no liquid present during the initial vacuum stage to interfere with pulling gases from the pores.
- Wet Vacuum Pressure Impregnation, which requires one process tank.
- Wet Vacuum Impregnation, the simplest and fastest casting impregnation process.
